Machinery/Deadstock Valuation Day – Drumlanrig Castle

MACHINERY/DEADSTOCK VALUATION DAY

THURSDAY 14th FEBRUARY 2019

Low Gardens, Drumlanrig Castle, Thornhill DG3 4AQ

SAAVA have been given the opportunity by Buccleuch Estates to hold a valuation day on machinery, livestock and dead stock at Low Gardens, Drumlanrig Castle allowing our members an opportunity to see all items of machinery and stock the day before the actual farm sale. Archie Hamilton from Lawrie and Symington will talk delegates through the principles of cataloguing and valuing. Following the sale, all delegates that have attended will be given a list with the results from the sale.

The itinerary will be as follows;

9.30 – Delegates to arrive for Tea/coffee and bacon rolls.   Please note delegates must be dressed appropriately with pen and paper to undertake cataloguing and valuation

10.00 – Introductions and overview: David Rogerson who is the farm manager for Buccleuch will provide an overview of the sale.

10.10 – Valuation: Archie Hamilton from Lawrie & Symington will talk delegates through the principles of cataloguing, what to look for and aspects of valuation.

Practical exercise: We will then invite delegates to catalogue and value the machinery, livestock and deadstock.

12.00 / 12.30pm – Finish

The actual farm sale is due to be held on Friday 15th February 2019 and on conclusion delegates will be provided with the sale results.

The cost for the event will be £10 per person made payable to SAAVA.

All delegates are to meet at Low Gardens, Drumlanrig Castle, Thornhill. Please see the location of the farm on the below map. Cars will be parked on the hard core area on the left hand side as you drive into Low Gardens. SAAVA signage will be in place.
