Tonight SAAVA Secretary, Mags, is pulling together the last bits of prep ahead of our centenary AGM, Spring Briefing and celebration lunch tomorrow morning.

The AGM paperwork has been emailed to all the members who are attending (so they can refer to the papers on phones and tablets), the conference rooms are all set-up and ready to go – which means all that is left for Mags to do is prepare all the name badges, treble check the sign in sheets and prepare for everyone’s arrival in the morning.

With almost 100 delegates and guests due to attend the event tomorrow it is amazing to think that 100 years ago, in the old North British Station Hotel, Edinburgh a group of Arbiters and Valuers came together for the first time to set up the Scottish Agricultural Arbiters & Valuers Association and here we are 100 years later coming back to the Balmoral Hotel, 1 Princess Street Edinburgh to celebrate our centenary year.

From 9.30am tomorrow morning our AGM will commence in the Holyrood suite, before Jeremy Moody, CAAV Secretary and Adviser takes to the floor, accompanied by CAAV colleague Rebecca Colins for the Annual Spring Briefing.  Then from 1pm the Centenary Celebration lunch will commence in the Sir Walter Scott Suite.
